Each year, Inside the Gators kicks off its off-season coverage with our Parting Thoughts series, a collection of interviews with departing seniors and early-entry juniors recapping their time at Florida.
Up today is the second of a three-part installment with linebacker Alex Anzalone.

* Tuesday: His time at Florida
* Wednesday: Talking about teammates
* Thursday: Post Florida

Who’s your breakout pick on offense on the 2017 roster?
Anzalone: Probably Tyrie Cleveland. I think he pulled his hamstring early in the year and he had a pretty good one. Then, he started coming along. He started to play in that Tennessee game, and he caught that big ball then. Obviously, he made that big play against LSU. So he has the ability. It’s just about developing and maturing as a player more and more each player. And Lamical Perine is really good, too.
What about your breakout pick on defense?
Anzalone: All of the linebackers, really. They’re going to have to step up and have a breakout year, because linebackers make the most tackles. Whoever steps up, whichever one of those really step up, are going to be the breakout guys.

Who is a freshman who sat out last year who you think is going to make the biggest impact?
Anzalone: Jeremiah Moon. He’s tall and he’s getting big. He has a really good mindset and he’s smart and he’s freaking super athletic.
What’s your comparison of Feleipe Franks and Kyle Trask as football players after facing them in practice? Is one ahead of the other?
Anzalone: No, I don’t think so. I think that’s going to be a good battle whatever the battle is next year. They both have really good arm talent. It’s just about who leads better. There’s so much that goes into being a quarterback. You can’t just go off talent, you know?
