Sensational Sophomore Quoteboard II
Inside the Gators
Staff

Some of the top talent from across the southeast converged on Florida's campus for the Gators Sensational Sophomore Camp on Thursday evening.

Inside the Gators caught up with several of them after the event.

What are your overall impressions of Sensational Sophomore Night?

“First off, when we drove to Florida, we noticed how big of a campus it was. It felt like a real staple of Florida. You could definitely feel the tradition here. Definitely felt like a big program, but once we got inside and started practicing, positivity of the coaches was great. I know most of the quarterbacks, they’re all awesome. So, it was just a great experience coming out here and getting to throw in front of guys I already know and guys who I haven’t met yet.

How did Austin Appleby and Jake Allen help you throughout the day with your throwing?

“The main thing is just encouragement and just real-time correction on some of the drills. Sometimes, a little hip would be out of place or maybe a shoulder too high. Just tell me about it so that way next throw, I can fix it.”

You’ve got a pretty busy schedule, with the next stop being TCU tomorrow. How do you feel like this camp helped you with your progression as a QB?

“It’s always great to hear different perspectives of your quarterback position. Really, when I’m out of camp I just focus on that staff and what they’re teaching so it doesn’t really carry over to another camp. But, as far as this fall, definitely fixed some things here and picked up some things that I can use.”

I know you didn’t participate in the camp, but what did you think of how it went?

“It was good seeing all the young stars do some things. Seeing the future of sports, to be honest. I’m camping tomorrow, so I got to see what the drills look like so I have an idea of what they do and stuff.”

What have the Florida coaches been saying to you?

“They’ve been trying to get me up here, to be honest, see the campus again. Last time I was up here was the spring game. So now that I’m up here, that’s good for them. It’s good for me, too.”

You left before the actual camp began, but what was your impression of the visit?

"It was good to work with Coach [Kerry] Dixon. He taught me a lot. I had a good time out there and I liked the visit overall."

How did the offer from Florida come about?

"After working with Coach Dixon and talking to him he took me up to Coach [Jim] McElwain's office and I met with him and he talked to me. They told me how much they liked having me at Florida and stuff like that."

What made you decide to visit Florida?

"I've just always liked Florida. I wanted to see the campus."
