Following a 38-24 Florida win over Vanderbilt, Inside the Gators now reviews the past week with a 3-2-1 report. We provide three observations, present two questions and make one prediction as the Gators head into a match-up with LSU next Saturday.

Three things we learned this week:

1. Florida’s offense is at its best when the ground game does the heavy lifting:

Saturday’s game provided a blueprint for how Florida can win with Feleipe Franks as its quarterback. It starts with the running game. The Gators ran the ball, successfully, at almost a 2:1 ratio (51 runs to 26 passes) against Vanderbilt. UF’s three-man rotation at running back combined for 206 yards on 41 carries.

Franks threw roughly half of the 26 passes (14), gaining 185 yards on 10 completions with no interceptions. The redshirt freshman was effective running the two-minute offense and showed his knack for hitting the deep ball on a 49-yard completion to sophomore wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland.

2. Jordan Sherit has become quite the pass-rusher.
