Robinson was sidelined for the 2017 season after doctors were concerned by the results of an echocardiogram in September. On Oct. 5, then-coach Jim McElwain indicated that Robinson had seen a specialist in Philadelphia. McElwain said test results from the Philadelphia visit would be evaluated by UF doctors in November.

Listed at 6-4, 205 pounds on Florida's 2017 roster, Robinson was a top-20 wide receiver. Despite never seeing the field, he made his share of headlines at Florida. Robinson's signing at UF almost did not happen due to a marijuana citation he received in January on a recruiting visit at Ohio State. McElwain worked hard behind the scenes to get Robinson included in the 2017 class, and even called coaches at other schools on Robinson's behalf when it looked like UF admissions would not allow Robinson to sign.

Though Robinson signed on National Signing Day, he faced more eligibility hurdles. Robinson did not join the team until after the start of fall camp in August.
