Taylor Upshaw is a 6-foot-5 240-pound defensive end who’s currently a senior at Braden River High School in Bradenton, Fla. One glance at his list of scholarship offers would make anyone question his three-star ranking from Rivals.com
Despite that ranking, he’s become a priority recruit for Florida to retain in the Class of 2018.
When he committed to the Gators over the summer Jim McElwain was Florida’s head coach. Now that’s not the case and the young pass rusher says he was surprised by that news.
“I didn’t expect they were going to part ways,” Upshaw said when asked about McElwain and Florida. “It kind of caught me off guard.”
